I saw this message in the Livejournal Knitting Community, it kept me amused when I should have been working this morning. Personally, I have never liked and I doubt I will ever like ponchos and I hate them even more after the whole Martha Stewart “Home-coming” thing. I’m not really into the whole capelet thing either. I guess it is annoying to buy a magazine only to have it filled with awful patterns – hence why I don’t subscribe to any… it was a little extreme though and over 100 people commented – I guess the people have spoken.
The Easter weekend was quiet… nothing amazing happened and not much knitting was done.
Did manage to finish one sleeve for Lucky – yeah!
Didn’t manage to get anymore wool – however Jason should be going to John Lewis this week for me.
I started a bolero from Vintage Knits in a mohair blend I got from eBay… I’ve added a slight lacey pattern to it – jazz it up a little and after messing up a sleeve yesterday, I’ve decided it’s going to be short sleeved… make it will make it quicker to knit too.

Finally, I have managed to get my camera out and add some images to a post.
Jason has been working funny hours again – which mean loads of nights in, in front of the TV for me and of course loads of knitting, without fear of getting moaned at!
This is the left front looks all amazing – I cannot believe how amazing this looks – I can’t wait to finish it – just so I can wear it.
As I said I have done loads of knitting – not only have I finished the left front – I have also done the right front and the back (for the second time).
The pattern seems to really use up wool. I think I forgot to carry a one or something when calculating the yardage, because I don’t think I have enough wool left to finish it – hopefully, I can get to John Lewis this week to get some more – if I buy too much, I’m sure I can find another project for it.

Jason is back to working nights, so Iâm unable to sleep again⦠and am left watching TV and knitting at funny hours. Hence I have managed to get loads done.
I have managed to finish all the âalmostâ? finished projects â get buttons sewn on and finished seaming, so finally I can post some photos.
This is actually an older project (from before Xmas), but I just love it and had to include it here. Originally, it was designed for me – but my sister loved the color and I had matching beads so I brought the wool for her – with the intention of making a blue one for me at a later date and I still haven’t got round to it, mainly because the wool was really tough to knit with.
You can’t really make them out but there’s tiny beads on the bottom 20 rows in the pattern.
Â
Long Sleeve Jacket from Vintage Knits.
I had to completely frog the back of this twice and then the front once – I started this project way back in September – when I was still in my 20′s
. It was meant to be the jacket I wear in the autumn months – however, I think it will be an essential part of my spring wardrobe.
I even got to wear it on Friday – yeah for sun in London!
Â
Lace Top with Ribbons from Vintage Knits.
As soon as I saw this pattern, I had to knit it – I wasn’t to keen on the ribbons so I amended the pattern.
I used a wool mix instead of cotton (what the pattern stated), as I thought it added to the vintage look.
The pattern was pretty easy to follow – I love lace work, as it keep me thinking as I knit, however, this was really tough – the cables and the lace was pretty tough work.

After my recent post about buying wool online, I have been busy bidding away on wool on eBay.
On Friday, I was outbid at the last moment on some blue mohair
, however, later on that day Jason and I did outbid someone at the last minute on a car – so I guess that is even.
Today I have been bidding on more mohair, and am watching some green 4 ply; I have so many ideas for what I want to do next. I have two ideas for sweaters for me and I think my Mum wants a cotton cardigan – from Vintage Knits.
All these new projects and I still need to finish Lucky, the lace top from Vintage Knits and a crochet scarf for my sister.

Stolen from just about everyone
You appear to be a Knitting Adventurer.
You are through those knitting growing pains and feeling more adventurous. You can follow a standard pattern if it’s not too complicated and know where to go to get help. Maybe you’ve started to experiment with different fibers and you might be eyeing a book with a cool technique you’ve never tried. Perhaps you prefer to stick to other people’s patterns but you are trying to challenge yourself more. Regardless of your preference, you are continually trying to grow as a knitter, and as well you should since your non-knitting friends are probably dropping some serious hints, these days.

I’ve been thinking today about my next project (yes I know I have only just started Lucky). I really want to knit something else in mohair, and I was thinking a pale blue. I have seen some amazing wool on eBay, but I have yet to buy any wool from the Internet as I usually am drawn to the colour or texture. However, it is so much cheaper online.
Obviously the most important think is the pattern, I really like Ultra Feminine from SnBN or Grecian plait from Knitty, but neither of them is just perfect… I like the lace bottom and mini ribbon of Grecian plait and the arms of Ultra Femme, I guess I will have to combine them… but I also saw an amazing jumper in Top Shop that had a chevron hem and it looked amazing, so maybe I will have to combine all three ideas.

I thought I should comment more on Lucky as it’s the main thing I’m working on at the moment. I’m using Paton’s Washed Haze in Rose Pink – although it’s more of a purple color, I loved the colour and didn’t stop to think that I don’t have much purple clothes to go with it – still it’s an excuse to buy a new dress and I’m sure it will look great with jeans.
I had completed the back however; I noticed a few errors, clovers with only two leaves. So I started again, now it’s looking a lot better and I seem to be getting into the swing of things with the pattern. As I started the back again, I decided to do the rib in tubular cast-on or Italian style (I’m not sure what it’s called), so hopefully it will look neater – I always think my casting on is messy.
The other problem is I am spending the week at Jason’s parent’s house and I remembered all my knitting stuff but forgot the camera, so I won’t be able to post any pictures until after the weekend.
