Stash Enhancement

StashOne of the problems with not blogging regularly is I didn’t get a chance to flash the latest additions to my stash. Most of this was purchased in the January sales.

  • Debbie Bliss Maya (half price in the John Lewis sale), which I am using for my circular shrug.
  • Some cheap pink acrylic sock yarn, I think I will make some Jaywalkers with this.
  • Paton’s Essences in the bright pink, probably with become the Anthropologie Capelet from Craftster.

Twin Set SweaterHaving spent the majority of the last week waiting for news from the hospital, I have managed to knit away; the twin set is almost complete. After about 3 months I have finally blocked the sweater, I was concerned that the cardigan would look too plain also in stocking stitch so I added a little pattern – based on the diamond stitch pattern from diamond sweater also in Vintage Knits.

The body and sleeve of the cardigan are done and being blocked. All I just need to do is knit the button band however, I think this is going to be like Lucky and take me the most time to complete. I would like to have this completed by this week before Project Spectrum begins.

Circular ShrugAs a distraction, I started this circular shrug, this is my unofficial Knitting Olympics project (I didn’t think I would finish it in time), this pattern knits up really quickly, two nights worth of knitting and I have completed 7 inches – I guess I could have finished it in the 16 days. Especially, as I can’t wait to wear this project.

Happy Valentine’s Day

Jason and I have put Valentine’s Day on hold as my dad is in hospital and I wasn’t really in the mood to celebrate. However it is impossible not to be drawn in to all the love and hearts that surrounds us at this time of year.

Love HeartsBoth Jason and I both loved Love Heart sweets as children and when we first started dating we started buying them for each other. In more recent years we have been buying them by the box load. When it came to picking a theme for our wedding it became the obvious idea to use these sweets, once we looked into it we have found this idea works as we have found invites, favours, cake and even disposable cameras all in the Love Hearts theme.

Although, I am hoping to make my own own stationary and even design a website around the Love Heart theme especially, as they now do “modern” sweets with Website and Email Me written on them (see above).

Added to this I love the purple colour of the sweets and am hoping to have the bridesmaid dressing in this purple and am accent of the pink on the tables. Then just to top it off today whilst catching up on my reading in blog-land today, I saw the most amazing yarn at Tracy’s blogAustralian Sock Wool in Love Hearts – the colours are perfect, do you think I can ask the bridesmaids to wear hand knitted socks with there dresses.
