I do like to be beside the seaside…

Posted by Dee under General, Socks, Travels

Seaside

It is my Mum’s birthday this week, and we decided to do something a little special for her, with all the lovely weather we have been having, we thought a weekend at the seaside.

Brighton Pier

The weather wasn’t all that wonderful, but we did get to, walk along the front, experience the pier, and do a little shopping in the Lanes.

Really, the weekend was an excuse for us to eat a lot of food, we have all wanted to have High Tea at the Ritz, and when we discovered our hotel did afternoon tea, who were we to say no…

Jaywalkers

Of course, no weekend away would be complete with out some company of the long car journey – yes I finally got some time to knit! I have been working on a pair of Jaywalkers, in Lorna Lace – I was hoping to have them finished for tomorrow for my Mum… a night in front of the TV and I have the day off tomorrow so who knows.

Good Girls Keep Diaries…

Posted by Dee under General

One of the worst things about being busy is not having the time to blog, what makes it worse is that is the best time to blog because you have something interesting to write about. Plus in the future you would like a record of this time and all you have to show for it is blank webpages.

So far 2007, has been one of those busy times.

January, was really just a blur, we had family over for my dad’s funeral, everything was put on hold.

By Feburary, all we could focus on was the wedding, there was still so much to be done (favours, stationary, out-of-town gift bags), we spent two weeks of 14 hour days getting ready…

Then in mid Febuaray we had more shocking news, Jason’s partner in the shop announced he had monetary problems, and as a result had been adviced to declare himself bankrupt, within a week the shop was shut and we were both unemployed.

We decided to put everything on hold once again until after the wedding and honeymoon and now we are trying to rebuild our lives. I had spend a lot of time on the website, we have made some decent contacts and done a lot of research. Not being one to accept failure, I have decided to try and run the store as a web based business in the short term.

I have put together a page outlining some of the information to do with our wedding, mainly to post on all the wedding forums I am a member of.

Honeymoon Highlights

“The best-laid plans of mice and men often go awry”

Jason and I originally planned to have our honeymoon in Hawaii, however due
to timing annoying credit card companies and airfares doubling we ended up exploring the South West of America.

Our plan was always to travel to New York to attend a friend’s wedding, then to fly to Las Vegas for a few days for heading of to Hawaii, instead we hired a car and hit the road.

Dee & Jason
New York was amazing, a few friends made the journey across the Atlantic for
the wedding, we got to hang out, drink and eat.

Snow
Of course, we happened to he in the Big Apple on one of the coldest weekends
of the year, walking 6 blocks in the snow in heels to the church was not fun!

Vegas
Then it was off to warmer climates.

Loot
Jason’s adventure was successful, mine was not. It seems I can’t count to 21 and six is not my lucky number.

Lake Las Vegas
Monument Valley
Grand Canyon
We then explored, Palm Springs, San Diego, Lake Las Vegas, Monument Valley and the Grand Canyon.

Skywalk
Being in the area, we had to walk on the Skywalk

Unfortunately, you are not allowed camera on the walkway and their cameras were
not working, so we have no photos.

Vegas
Finally, we went back to Vegas.

Wynn
Where we stayed at the Wynn.

Celine Dion Chip
This time I was a little more successful (yes they have photos of Celine Dion on the chips at Caesars Palace).

Tattoo
Jason and I got Inked at Hart & Huntington.
