Sweater with Mohair Stripes

Posted by Dee under Finished Projects 2007, Sweaters

Finished Sweater with Mohair Stripes

Collar
Yarn: Double Top Cotton in Brown and Destiny Mohair in Petrol (both from Texere)
Pattern: Sweater with Mohair Stripes from Vintage Knits by Sarah Dallas, with major adjustments.
Needles: 4.5mm circular and straight.
Notes: Although the original pattern comes from Vintage Knits, I have changed it quite a lot, first off I used double knit cotton, and not 4 ply, therefore, I had to change the size needles and gauge.

I knitted the complete pattern on the round – so no end for seaming, this meant IĀ could carry the main colour over the mohair – however it did still leave a lot of ends to weave in! Also because of the change in gauge, I did 8 rows on the main colour instead of 10.

Oh, this is lovvvvvvvvely!! I’ve been eyeing this sweater myself! (but there’s that thing about stripes and how I was told never to wear them…sigh.)
