I have been having a few problems with this blog… hopefully it should be resolved in the next few day and then we are getting a face lift – until them I am sorry of the appearence.

Also I have recently had a few comments left about The Short Row Rib Scarf I made at the beginning of the year… I don’t have a copy of the pattern but it is available here.

Christmas Meme

Posted by Dee under General

1. Wrapping paper or gift bags? Wrapping Paper - although this year I have some lovely red cotton bags – which I am hoping will be reused as shopping bags.
2. Real tree or Artificial? Artificial.
3. When do you put up the tree? The Sunday closest to the  10th (it is going up today)
4. When do you take the tree down? Around the 5th.
5. Do you like eggnog? I have not really had it, but I am guessing no.
6. Favorite gift received as a child? I remember getting a TV when I was about 8 – it was a joint present for me and my sister to go in the room we shared, it was black and white and has a knob you turned to change channels.
7. Hardest person to buy for? My sister, she always buys the most amazing presents, and is the girl that has everything! Plus, I can think about what to get her for months and then she ends up buying it for herself in November!
8. Easiest person to buy for? Jason – he normally gives me a few ideas and pick one of them… People always tell me he is the hardest person to buy for.
9. Do you have a nativity scene? No
10. Mail or email Christmas cards? Mail handmade christmas cards (I normally make about 60), the one year I send shop brought ones I got complaints (in my defence I was making wedding stationary and didn’t have time to make both).
11. Worst Christmas gift you ever received? I don’t think I have even got anything really bad – just a top once that really “wasn’t me.”
12. Favorite Christmas Movie? Well Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without a Bond film – but actually Christmas movie would have to be a Nightmare Before Christmas
13. When do you start shopping for Christmas? Mid-November, I have a few major birthdays to shop for before hand – so after that.
14. Have you ever recycled a Christmas present? No.
15. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas? MInce Pies!
16. Lights on the tree? No.
17. Favorite Christmas song? The Waitresses – Christmas Wrapping and Feliz Navidad which was played in every shop we went to when we went Christmas shopping in Chicago.
18. Travel at Christmas or stay home? At home, on Christmas day and us and my family go to my in-laws on Boxing Day.
19. Can you name all of Santa’s reindeer? No.
20. Open the presents Christmas Eve or morning? Morning – but we exchange presents with my in-laws on Boxing Day morning.
21. Most annoying thing about this time of the year? The weather – I wouldn’t mind snow but all we have is ice cold rain!
22. Favorite ornament theme or color? We tend to buy everything in gold and red - although in recent years have been adding some brown ornaments.
23. What do you want for Christmas this year? Flip Video, I would love some Zepillin Speakers but don’t think I have been that good this year.
24. Angel on the tree top or a star? Star.
25. Favorite Christmas dinner? I love Brie and Cranberry Parcels (I am a veggie).

Presents

Scarlett Fleece

Whilst I should be rushing around at the moment buying gifts for other people I seem to have recently got a few gifts for me. First off as part of the Sosesaswa, I received this wonderful parcel of goodies (and the yarn above), included in the parcel was a knitting mystery novel, a cute sock purse, soap, stitch markers and everything I need to make my own stitch markers. (Jen also included instructions). The yarn is Scarlet Fleece in the most amazing teal colour (I mentioned in my questionnaire this is my favourite colour at the moment), she also included a pattern for Garden Trellis Socks.

I have also been treating myself to some Cashmerino Aran (Why am I only discovering this yarn now) which I should be turning into hats over Christmas.
