I saw this on the Pop Candy blog, we all dream of one day writing a novel but have you ever wander what it would be called or even what the cover would look like. I hadn’t until I saw this and now I have a pen name and my novel title – I just been the plot to go with it!
Meme details here and the gallery of other novels is here (some of them are amazing).

In honour of my Ravel-versary this weekend, I am celebrating with a photo mosaic of some of the projects I class as “favourites” on Ravelry – enjoy!

- Craftyginger’s Best Friend Bag.
- Little Cotton Rabbit’s Bunnies – which have their very own little story
- PraticalPolly’s now infamous Wonder Woman Jumper
- Perrysburger66′s Heart Afghan.
- MissVicki’s Batgirl.
- Cable Bag – I love Farrah’s alternations (the adding of leather handles rather than knitted ones) makes this perfect knitted handbag – it has been in my queue for years.
- Janknit’s Cup Cozies – perfect little gifts.
- BatmanBaiter’s Batman Bag!
- Emms Buttony – I just adore this large “minstrel” buttons they change the look of this cardigan.
- Sandra’s Vintage Jaywalker socks – just fabulous!
- Bamboozelle – I love how this pattern does not look like it is knitted.
- Alice’s Fiori di Zucca Socks – from last years sock club, I think these socks were the reason I wanted to join this year.
- The Weekend Bag from Interweave, I have never felt comfortable working with colour but when I do this will be high on my list of things to knit!
- Neoknit’s Buttercup, like with the weekend bag, this is a future project once I have mastered intarsia.
- Mochi mochi – again the geek in me loved this pattern!

- I have been a fan of the knitted babes for some time and I just love the hair on Zena’s version.
- Funkynitter’s Poker Sweater!
- Funkynitter’s Animal!
- rei’s Olive – a simple pattern with a great look.
- ax174′s Skein of Yarn Bag Charm – not knitted but a great idea.
- Pastel Cakes again by Little Cotton Rabbit
- Juncojunction’s Soma Cube – I used to have a wooden version of this when I was a child and I love the idea of a knitted version.
- Chatulim Hexagon Blanket.
- Knitted Easter Eggs – calorie free!
- Leigh Mason-Brown’s Granny Square Earrings
- Laura’s Audrey.
- Planetjune’s Lemmings – I spend hours playing this game at university and these brought back so many memories.

Filed under General, socktopus club 2009
I haven’t really mentioned it – but this year I bit the bullet and signed up for my first sock club… Previously, I was a little concerned whether I could commit to the whole year – but reading about all the fun they had last year I decided to sign up for the Sock(topus) Club 2009, this evening I got sorted into a house…

| My Result: Knitmore Manor |
Welcome to Knitmore Manor, House of the fabulous and glam! A Knitmore’s favourite stitch is the knit stitch, and we know you love to be centre stage (since a Knitmore is so lovely and wonderful!). Elegant, sophisticated, you enjoy great wit and conversation. Oh and the occasional champagne pedicure.
Knitmore Manor’s mascot is a pheonix, and the House colours are amber and azurite (Han blue).

Taken from my Livejournal – orginially from fangirljen
Step One
- Make a post to your journal. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fun (“I’d love an avatar/layout for my journal”) to medium (“I wish for _____ on DVD”) to really big (“All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.”).
The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
- If you wish for real possible things, make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it’s your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.
- Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your journal, or link to this post (it’ll be public) so that the holiday joy will spread.
Step Two
- Surf around your friends journals (or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here’s the important part:
- If you see a wish you can grant, and it’s in your heart to do so, make someones wish come true. Sometimes someones trash is another’s treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don’t want or a gift certificate you won’t use–or even know where you could get someones dream pure bred Basset Hound for free–do it.
You needn’t spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn’t to put people out, it’s to provide everyone a chance to be someone else’s holiday elf–to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not–it’s your call.
There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just… wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you’ll have the joy of knowing you made someones holiday special.
My List
- A new layout/Friends only Banner for my LJ.
- Twin Peaks Season Two on DVD.
- Tickets to see Swimming with Sharks (again).
- Anything from my Amazon Wish List
- Handmade Christmas Cards – I always make our Christmas cards and I’d like someone to make me one.
- The WGA to make an agreement and the strike to end. To help this, there’s a pencil donation drive happening that sounds really cool! (Wish copied from Jen).
- Donations to Cancer Research.
- Jason to get a job in London.
- Our website to do well.
- I dream of a new house.
EDIT: Comment with your wish list or to get my contact details.

I know I am extremely late to this party, but I have seen it on so many blogs, I thought it was my turn…
Go to Wikipedia and look up your birthday. Then post 3 events, 2 births, and a holiday.
31st October
Events
1892 – Arthur Conan Doyle publishes The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes.
1940 – World War II: Battle of Britain ends.
1984 – Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi is assassinated.
Birthdays*
1963 – Johnny Marr (The Smiths)
1966 – Adam Horovitz (Beastie Boys)
Holiday/Observence Day
Halloween
* I went for the coolest people born on my birthday, and unfortunately I had to leave out Larry Mullen (U2) – However, I could have gone the cheesy route and added the Cheeky Girls and Vanilla Ice.
