Currently… June Edition

Currently Series

June was a pretty crazy month for me. At the start of the month, Jason and I watched Liverpool FC win their sixth Champion’s League. Jason’s parent’s visited us in the middle of the month and we went to the Bond in Motion exhibition (which I will write about later). And then at the end of June, we went to the MLB London Series to see the Boston Red Sox against the New York Yankees.

Currently Watching… Veronica Mars

I’m super excited about the new season of Veronica Mars next month. And even though I don’t know if it will be streamed in the UK. Until then, in June I dug out my old DVD box set and quickly watched season 1 and 2!

Currently Reading… Veronica Mars: The Thousand-Dollar Tan Line.

Continuing the Veronica Mars obsession this month, I also read the spin off novel. This is a must read for any fans of the show. Picking up a few months after the movie, the book follows Veronica’s adventure as she solved another mystery back in Neptune.

Currently Playing… Harry Potter: Wizards Unite
For the last year, If been playing Pokémon GO most evenings and at weekends. I’d read that Niantic had planned a similar game based on the wizarding world of Harry Potter. We even saw the trailer for the game when watching Detective Pikachu. So as soon as the game was launched I downloaded it and am trying to work out how to play both games at the same time.

June 2019 Loves
  1. Stranger Things Retro VHS Notebook £11.99
As the new season of Stranger Things is finally here. The shops are filled with tons of new merchandise. All of which has that amazing 1980’s vibe! I especially love this notebook designed to look like an old VHS tape.
  2. Harry Potter Potion Drinks Bottle £6.99
I always like to carry a water bottle around with me especially. As most of my evenings, this month have included a walk around the park playing Wizards Unite, I wanted to get a Harry Potter themed water bottle.
  3. Helix Ear-ring with chain £7.49
I had a helix piercing done in my early 20’s, in fact, I had six piercing in my ear. But I only ever wear one earring. However, at the moment I’ve become obsessed with ear-rings again, so am on the hunt for different and unusual earrings.
  4. Pokémon Graphic T-Shirt £12.90
Uniqlo is my go-to store for basics, t-shirts, jeans and sweaters. Once every so often they do a cool limited edition t-shirt collection. In the past, it has been Star Wars and Marvel. This summer, it is all about anime. With two collections the first one based on classic Manga characters and now a Pokémon collection.
  5. Love Arrow Hair Pin £3.99
Having shorter hair in warmer weather can lead to all sorts of issues. Obviously, I’d like to just tie my hair back but it is too short. Plus my hair goes fizzy in the heat. So I am always on the lookout fun hair accessories, like this amazing one from Blackheart.

Adventure of the month
As I mentioned at the end of June, Jason and I had an amazing time at the MLB London Series. Jason has been a Red Sox fan for years, often staying awake until the early hours to watch the games live. So I was super excited for him to see his team in our city.  Personally, I think they did an amazing job of transporting the Gameday experience across the pond. And even if our team didn’t win we the thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and cannot wait for future London Series.
