My Geeky Looks for Autumn 2019

For once I am going to do something a little different. I consider myself a lifestyle blogger, but that I am not comfortable publishing fashion or beauty blog posts. But I thought I would step out of my comfort zone and write a blog post about fashion!  Of course, this isn’t the first time I have blogged about clothes. I mention some of my favourite things in my monthly round-up posts and I have published a few Everyday Cosplay outfits in a past. But this will be the first time I have written about my wardrobe and some of the geeky looks I will be wearing this autumn.

My Geeky Looks for Autumn 2019

If I had to describe my style it would be geek chic! I adore the street style in London and love to add my own geeky twist to this. However, my daily uniform (for want of a better term) tends to be my favourite jeans, a geeky t-shirt or sweatshirt, and trainers, with a coat in the colder months.

I tend to find geeky t-shirts everywhere, but my favourite place is Teepublic for something a little more unique. I recently brought this t-shirt after seeing it on A Geeky Gal’s Instagram feed. The outfit is usually accessorised with my satchel and a cup of coffee! For the autumn months the coffee, of course, becomes a Pumpkin Spice Latte!

The Spinelli

This year there’s definitely a grunge feel to my wardrobe! When I was at school in the 1990s, I loved plaid shirts and Doc Marten boots, and this next outfit is a throwback to that look. Although if I am going, to be honest, it was inspired by Spinelli from Recess. When hunting for a cute red and black shirt online I discovered this Craft inspired one from Cakeworthy (they also have a green Ghostbusters one). Finally, one of my favourite accessories for autumn is a woollen hat that I have made. However, I have included a plain one here. If you really wanted a geeky look try one of Jordandene’s beanies.

Geeky Grunge

Nearly every store this season has their version of the midi leopard print skirt. Which they team up with a retro band t-shirt for the ultimate grunge look. To give this outfit a geeky look or nerdy twist, I plan on wearing it with my Captain Marvel Nirvana t-shirt. I completed the look by painting my nails with Chanel Rouge Noir. Which was my favourite nail varnish in the 1990s! As it was the shade Uma Thurman wore in the classic Pulp Fiction movie poster.

Over the summer I discovered Nobody’s Child an online store with an emphasis on sustainable fashion. They tend to upcycle old material into several designs of dresses or skirts. I love the “Alexa” style dress as it is a great length and so flattering! As I loved it so much, I ended up buying two different patterns. They are a great everyday dress to wear with trainers in the summer months. However, in the colder weather, I have been adding a baggy jumper or sweatshirt. It’s a great outfit to wear whilst playing Pokémon Go or shopping, hence why I have teamed with a tote bag and water bottle.

Date Night

For autumn, Nobody’s Child has updated my favourite dress! Siri is Alexa’s sister the same dress with sleeves! Again this is a great dress from running around during the day. Or can be dressed up with metallic boots for a dinner date or drinks with friends. At the moment it’s warm enough to just add my biker jacket, but when winter starts I’ll swap this out for my teddy coat. And to complete the geeky look, I’ve added a few Batman-themed accessories! I mean, how cool is this Batman bag?
