To Sir Phillip, With Love (Bridgertons #5) Julia Quinn
☕☕
In February I continuing to read the Bridgerton series, that I started last month. Excited to finally get to Eloise’s story. As she was my favourite character on the TV show. To Sir Phillip, With Love follows Eloise as she runs away from home to meet with Phillip. A Sir she has been writing to over the past year. As excited as I was to start this book I grew bored of it! And as a result, it took me a long time to finally finish it.
The Starless Sea Erin Morgenstern
☕☕☕☕
I adore getting book recommendations from friends. The most recent recommendation I received was for The Starless Sea. As I was looking for something to read between Bridgerton books, I picked up this book. The Starless Sea is a fantasy story for book lovers. A mixture of fairytales, a mystery with a little romance thrown in for good measures. Zachary finds a mysterious book called Sweet Sorrows in his university library. Surprisingly he discovers he is a character in the book! The Starless Sea jumps between passages from fictional books including Sweet Sorrows. And Zachary’s journey to discover more about the book. I adored the first 80% of this book, but, the end seemed a little rushed.
Currently Watching
This is Us (Season 4)
I watched This is Us like clockwork when it aired on Channel 4. And was eagerly awaiting the next season. What I hadn’t realised was it changed to airing on Amazon Prime! So this month I have had the chance to catch up with the Pearson family!
Lost (Season 1)
Disney+ added a ton of new content in the middle of February with the addition of Star to the streaming service. Lost was the first programme I wanted to rewatch. I adored Lost when it originally aired. It was one of the first programmes I spend hours online discussing. The Lost panel at SDCC 2005 was the first one I watched online. Even though, I did have issues with the season finale it hasn’t stopped me from enjoying my rewatch of season 1.
Currently Listening To
During the lockdown, I tend to listen to the radio in the morning and as a result, my music taste seems to have changed a lot. One new album that seemed to be very hyped in February was the new Ghetts album. And after listening to it, I understood why. Featuring tracks with Skepta, Stormzy and even Ed Sheeran, this album is definitely a highlight of 2021.
Of course, the song that became my soundtrack to Feburay is Agatha All Along!
Currently Knitting
Pattern: Hope Earwarmer by Yarn and Chai
Yarn: Lima Drops in Light Beige.
In the colder months, I love knitting practical items, hats, gloves and scarves. There is nothing more satisfying than quickly making an item and wearing it! As I haven’t been able to get a haircut due to the lockdown, my hair is a mess which I tend to tie back, making it awkward to wear a hat. So I decided to make a woolly headband or ear-warmer. And as I had some extra yarn left I made a little coffee cup cosy to match.
