I have seen The Halloween Tag on a few blogs recently, and as soon as I saw it I knew I wanted to join it. In previous years have completed several Autumn Blog Tags, as I love this time of year. I know everyone says that they love Halloween, but I really do adore it. Because in case you didn’t know Halloween is also my birthday. So as you can imagine my answers to the Halloween Tag are going to be a little bit different!
When does the Halloween season start for you?
Honestly, as early as possible! I love celebrating Halloween and my birthday and would celebrate all month if I could. But it’s probably around mid-October. We slowly start adding pumpkins and other decorations around the house, but the majority of decorations go up the weekend before Halloween.
Do you have any Halloween traditions?
As you can imagine I have a lot of Birthday/Halloween traditions. Normally, I will spend the day with family, eating a lot of Halloween chocolate! And then in the evening Jason and I go out a meal to one of my favourite restaurants.
What is your favourite Halloween memory?
I have so many fun memories from recent years, I was lucky enough to spend my 40th birthday in New York, that was amazing. And a few years earlier in Las Vegas. Halloween in the on the Vegas Strip is a completely different experience to Halloween in London.
Do you decorate for Halloween?
Yes! Over the years, we have collected a very large collection of decorations. Everything from banners, to mini haunted houses and several candle holders! Plus I love anything Jack-O-Lantern related.
What has been your favourite Halloween costume you’ve worn?
I tend not to get dressed up! Halloween wasn’t a big thing in the UK when I was a kid and as an adult, I tend to spend the night in a bar or restaurant celebrating my birthday, so I prefer to wear my favourite dress!
If you could be in a Halloween movie (horror or not), which would you choose?
A Nightmare Before Christmas! It is my favourite Halloween movie and I’d love to live in Tim Burton’s world!
How do you plan on celebrating Halloween this year?
As I mentioned, I tend to go out for a meal in the evening and I think we will be doing the same thing this year.
Have you ever carved a Jack-O-Lantern?
Oddly no! We tend to have a lot of mini pumpkins rather than larger ones. So I just draw a little cute face on the munchkins!
What is something you want to do to celebrate Halloween one year?
This is so easy to answer, Disney! I follow a lot of Disney Annual Pass Holders on Instagram and I love seeing their photos of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and all the Fall decorations! One year I want to experience that for myself.
What is your Halloween costume this year? If you don’t have one, what would you like to be?
As I said I tend not to get dressed up! I don’t have a costume planned.
Do you enjoy a super scary Halloween or a more light-hearted spooky Halloween?
Definitely, light-hearted!
How would you spend a Halloween at home versus going out?
I do love going out!
Why do you love Halloween?
It’s my birthday!
